POEM SHARE: Children's poets from across the globe presenting their favorite poems for Poetry Month and beyond!
Have you ever considered what the world would be like if the letter A was erased from existence? Children's author Darren Sardelli has! He ponders the catastrophic results in today's POEM SHARE, "Life Without the Letter A."
"Life Without the Letter A" appears in Darren's upcoming poetry collection My Taco-Flavored Book Report (And Other Flavorful Rhymes.) His poems have also appeared in several children's poetry anthologies, including Clara's Kooky Compendium of Thimble Thoughts and Wondefuzz, edited by Janet Wong and Sylvia Vardell. This anthology features doodles, drawings, fun facts, quiry questions, and 150+ giggle-inducing poems.
Now that you've considered what life would be like without the letter A, think about what would happen if another letter of the alphabet went missing. Try writing a poem about the results!
Happy poetry reading and writing, everyon!
I love this poem, Darren, and you did such a beautiful job reciting it. I was amazed to learn recently that the Italian language doesn't have the letters J, K,W, X and Y.
