POEM SHARE: Children's poets from across the globe presenting their favorite poems for Poetry Month and beyond!
In today's Poem Share, Irene Latham reads her apology poem "Yellow Dog Explains," about a dog that is naughty for a very nice reason. Irene's poem is modeled after a famous poem by the poet William Carlos Williams called "The Red Wheelbarrow."
Irene was inspired to write this poem by a piece of folk art by artist Jodi Queenan:
Try writing your own apology poem, maybe even in the voice of a dog or other animal. Or create your own ARTSPEAK! poem inspired by a piece of art!
Happy poetry reading and writing, everyone!
LOVE this, Irene. Thank you.
